New weather station network in Germany delivers accurate, field specific weather data and spraying advice
From 1 April, a new national, comprehensive weather station network with integrated advisory software will be rolled out across Germany. This all-in-one system provides arable and vegetable farmers with precise local weather data and practical guidance on spraying, helping them prioritise tasks and avoid unnecessary spraying costs. This innovation is brought to you by AgroExact, a specialist in weather data, and AgroVision. The two companies have previously established an extensive and proven weather network in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Look ahead, assess risks, and take control
Weather is becoming increasingly unpredictable and localised, playing a crucial role in crop‑management decisions. The weather has a major impact on the development of crop diseases and the success of spraying applications. By linking AgroExact’s on‑field measurements to AgroVision’s advisory models, growers receive accurate, field‑specific weather and spraying advice. In the AgroVision software, they can see several days ahead how disease pressure is developing on their fields and when spraying will be most effective. The system also provides dosage advice, enabling responsible reductions in crop‑protection products—benefiting the wallet, the crop and the environment.
Based on this, the grower can steer more effectively and optimise planning. Marc Cox, Sales and Marketing Director at AgroVision: “The strength of this collaboration is that the weather data from AgroExact is fully integrated into our advisory models. This gives the grower all important information for their fields in one system, helping them immediately to work smarter and use inputs more efficiently. This can save the grower a great deal of money.”
Sven Boogaard, co‑founder of AgroExact: “Local weather differences have clearly increased in recent years. This makes measuring conditions at field level crucial for making the right crop‑management decisions. With our years of experience in the Netherlands and Belgium, we have so much confidence in our solution that we want to give German growers the opportunity to test it completely risk‑free on their own farms. This allows them to experience its value before having to make a decision—something that makes this collaboration truly unique.”
Test the AgroExact weather station risk-free for farmers in Germany
To quickly build a dense network, every German arable farmer can now try the weather solutions from AgroVision and AgroExact free of risk during the growing season. AgroExact will install a weather station on the farmer’s field. The station is directly connected to AgroVision’s advisory systems and provides field‑specific weather advice, disease‑pressure forecasts and tailored spray recommendations. The trial is completely without obligation; after the test period, the grower can decide whether to continue using the system. More information: www.agrovision.com/de/wetterpaket.
About AgroExact
In the Netherlands and Belgium, AgroExact has built an extensive network of accurate weather stations, based on proven technology and highly rated in independent tests, including by Wageningen University. To achieve the most localised measurements, AgroExact operates its own network of weather stations, which users receive on loan via the app. Growers can also connect soil‑moisture sensors to determine the optimal irrigation moment and exact water amount. This solution was tested as the best in the market by Wageningen University in 2021 and has since been used throughout Europe.
