PIC and AgroVision announce the successful implementation of the new fully cloud based data exchange
PIC and AgroVision announce the successful implementation of their new cloud based data exchange between PICTraq™ and AgroVision’s sow management system PigVision.
PICtraq™ is the industry’s largest genetic database that PIC uses to store information of millions of pigs. PigVision is AgroVision’s online farrow to finish management system. The data exchange is using the latest technology and exchanges data today’s industry standards. The data exchange provides the user a fully automated data exchange of all breeding and growing events that are needed for the calculation of breeding values. The data exchange will increase the efficiency and accuracy of data collecting and sharing for commercial producers that have PIC genetics in their farms and work with PigVision.
For many years the data in AgroVision’s management programs and PICTraq has been exchanged. Globally, this new, future proof data exchange will enable us to provide our joint customers with a simpler and more automated way to share the data from PigVision to PICTraq and vice versa. Data can be recorded at the farm through manual entry or PigVision Mobile, the app from AgroVision for Android and IOS mobile devices.

“In return, the breeding manager receives from PICTraq™ the breeding index directly into his PigVision management system. Through this approach the breeding manager has real time access to the breeding index that can help him make the right decisions in the barn” adds Craig Lewis, PIC Product Development.
With this interface, breeding farmers don’t need to enter or import data into the PICTraq™ system. Data recorded within the AgroVision management system PigVision will automatically update the PICTraq™ database. This saves time in terms of double data entry and is less prone to errors. Farmers benefits of having up to date information both for the genetic evaluation of animals in their farm and the use of this information to make optimal breeding decisions.
